Donald Wayne Fisher

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Wayne Fisher, 79, who peacefully departed this life on October 28, 2025, in Monte Vista, Colorado. Born on August 10, 1946, in Roanoke, Virginia, Donald dedicated his life to service and compassion, leaving behind a legacy of love and strength.

Donald proudly served as a member of the United States Navy, enlisting on October 3, 1967, and retirement on December 1, 1996. His military career was marked by a notable tour with the Coast Guard in Alaska, as well as service on the USS Midway and USS America. He carried his service with honor and pride, always emphasizing the importance of helping others and contributing to the greater good.

A loving husband, Donald is survived by his devoted wife, Karen Fisher, and their daughter, Trella Fisher. He found joy in his role as a grandfather to Davion Atencio-Fisher and Ezekiel Atencio-Fisher, whose lives he touched deeply with his love and humor. He is also survived by his brother, Randy (Kathy) Fisher, who held a special place in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jaunita and James Fisher as well as his brother Billy Fisher.

Donald was known for his unwavering faith, humor, and a spirit that often embodied stubbornness, which endeared him to those who knew him. His love for animals, commitment to helping others, and strong testimony about his faith reflected the essence of who he was-a man who lived for the well-being of those around him.

A funeral service will be held at the Homelake Chapel at 11:00 AM on Wednesday November 5, 2025 followed by A graveside service at the Homelake Veterans Cemetery at 12:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating Donald's remarkable life and the profound impact he made on all of us.

As we gather to remember Donald, let us carry forward his spirit of compassion, love, and commitment to service. He will be dearly missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone he touched.
