SALEM – Donald Leroy Fryman, 92, passed away Friday, September 5, 2025, following a brief illness. He was born July 29, 1933, and raised in the Wellsville, Ohio area to the late Okey P. and Francis V. (Mick) Fryman.

Donald worked in potteries and as a mechanic at service stations in Wellsville. Later, he worked at G.M. Lordstown on the motor line until his retirement. He serviced in the U.S. Army, serving at Fort Lewis, Washington. Donald married his wife of 67 years, Vivian Marie Hogue on February 21, 1954, at her family home in Salineville.

Don was a soft-spoken man who never raised his voice and a family man who always set a good example for his children. His daughter will be forever grateful for his gentle guidance, advice, life lessons and love through the years. Life is not forever, but love is. "Say not in grief, he is no more, but in thankfulness, that he was."

He is survived by his daughter, Sharon (Stephen) Sitler of Leetonia; twin granddaughters, Kayla and Valerie Sitler; brother, Larry Fryman of Florida; daughter-in-law, Barbara (Ott) Fryman of Salem; grandchildren, Amanda and Bruce Andrew Fryman, Josh (Erin) Ott, all of Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents and wife, Donald was also preceded in death by a son, Bruce Leroy Fryman; three sisters, Deloris Starkey Ryan, Mary Hodson and Patricia Hogbin, all of Florida.

No services will be held at this time.

Burial will be Woodland Cemetery in Salineville.

Arrangements are being handled by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
