Mr. Don Garland, 62, of Curran, MI, passed away Friday evening, August 29, 2025 at his home. He was born May 28, 1963 in Barbourville, the son of the late Andy and Shirley Jean McQuinnis Garland.
Don was a steel manufacturing employee and believed in the Pentecostal faith. He loved being out of doors and deer hunting. Raising his son James was one of the greatest joys in his life.
On November 7, 2008, he united in marriage with Lanette Taylor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Patsy, Penny and Cathy; brothers, Harry, Lonnie and his twin brother, Earl and grandparents, Sam and Nannie.
Survivors include his loving wife, Lanette Garland; children, Shirley, Don, Jennifer, Penny, April, Patsy, Matthew and James; sisters, Margaret and Beatrice; brothers, Sam, Keith and Larry; a host of grandchildren; among other loved ones and dear friends who will cherish his memory.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, September 6 at 2 P.M. Rev. Sylvester Dunn officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Binghamtown Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Don Garland Jr., Alfredo Santiago, Matthew Garland, James Vargo, Steven Bingham, Sam Garland and James Garland.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
