Donald Eugene Garrett, age 80 of Arlington, Texas passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021. He was born on July 20, 1941 in Witchita, KS to Lester and Elsie Garrett. They both preceded him in death along with his sister Virginia Lauderdale. Don married the love of his life on September 9, 1962. He loved working in the yard and truly prided himself in knowing his yard was the best on the block. It was. Don loved seeing his grandkids, he was their "Pop" and he adored them. Next to his wife, kids and grandkids, he loved The Dallas Cowboys and he never missed a game. Even blackouts he would bundle us kids up and drive miles so we could watch the game at some roadside rest area on a portable t.v. We loved it. He made that so fun. It was a simple thing, but Dad loved the mornings. He could usually be found with his best friend Dick drinking coffee at IHOP laughing and cutting up. Don was a good man. He was an honest and loyal man and he will be missed by his family. He leaves behind his wife, Elaine Garrett, daughter, Trisha Garrett, son, Van Garrett and his wife DeeAnne Garrett. Grandchildren, Max Garrett, Olivia Garrett and Mitt Garrett. The family will receive guests from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, November 22nd at Chism-Smith Funeral Home.
