Donald John Gebert, age 97, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, at 5:22 a.m., surrounded by his loving family.

Born on February 25, 1928, to Fred and Josephine (Peissig) Gebert, Don grew up with a strong sense of faith, integrity, and humor that guided him throughout his life. He lived with a steady grace and a ready smile, meeting every challenge with quiet strength and humility. In 1955, Don married the love of his life, Marjorie Ellen (Vircks) Gebert, and together they built a home filled with laughter, love, and unwavering devotion. Their marriage of more than seventy years was a living example of God's faithfulness and enduring love.

Don began his career at Kurth Malting, then entered into the Army where he served between the years 1950-1952. After his service he then returned to work at Kurth Malting. He spent many working years at AAA Environmental Services in 1965 and retired at age 65 where he then he worked part-time at Oak Creek Fitness until the age of 90. He was admired for his reliability, strong work ethic, and genuine kindness. Beyond his professional life, he gave freely of his time to his community and church. He served as Vice President of AAL Branch 840 and was a devoted member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where he served faithfully on the church council and school board. Outside of work and service, Don loved the simple joys of life - fishing, deer hunting, playing dart ball, and cribbage while always sharing a good laugh with friends and family. His humor, warmth, and generosity touched everyone who knew him.

Don is survived by his beloved wife, Marjorie, and their five children: Marla (Rick) Stockland, Bryan (Ramona) and the late Doris, Diane (Chenoa), Craig (Donna), and Allen (the late Louise). Loving Grandpa of the late Melissa, David, Troy, Jeffrey, Amanda, Marshall, Melissa, Matthew, Crystal, and Jessie as well as, 13 great-grandchildren. Donald is the loving brother of Fred (Roseann) and Dale (Marcy) as well as the late Kenneth, Anita (the late Conrad and Chuck), Melvin (Pat), Gene, Jim, Nancy (Clarence). Brother-in-law to Leona and Caroline. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
