Donald "Don" Graves, 69, passed away on August 13, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas. Born on April 8, 1956, in the same city he called home throughout his life, Don was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering love for those around him.
Don dedicated much of his working life to A&W/Transfer, where he not only built a career but also formed lasting friendships. He was known among his coworkers for his strong work ethic and infectious sense of camaraderie. Whether on the job or off the clock, Don brought people together—often with a smile and a helping hand.
A man who found joy in simple pleasures and meaningful connections, Don loved spending time outdoors. He especially cherished camping trips with his brothers and riding his razor through the Arizona desert with his loyal dog Sam by his side. These adventures were more than hobbies—they were treasured moments that reflected Don’s love of nature and family.
Back home in Amarillo, Don created a welcoming space known affectionately as the "Beer Garden," where friends and family gathered for cookouts and good times. It was here that Don’s warmth truly shone—offering laughter, comfort, and companionship to all who joined him.
Don's legacy lives on through his loving family: daughters Sabrina Rowe and Renee McCauley; grandsons Conner Metcalf and Brandon McCauley; twin brother Ronald Graves; brothers Jerry Graves(Linda Graves), Joe Graves, Paul Graves, Robert Graves(Penny Graves) , and David Graves(Liala Graves); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who were touched by his presence.
He is reunited in peace with his parents Aaron Junior and Lillian Faye Graves; older brother Dale Graves; sisters Sharla Standish, Joan Molina, and Mary Long; grandparents Alfred and Viola Ince; and niece Joanne Lynn Worley.
Don's loving nature left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His memory will continue to bring comfort and joy to those who carry it forward.
May he rest in peace surrounded by the love he so freely gave. A Memorial Gathering will be held on September 13, 2025, at 04:30 PM at Schooler Funeral Home 4100 South Georgia.
