Donald J. Greenleaf, 92, of Exton, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Saint Martha's Manor in Downingtown. He was the husband of Geraldine "Gerrie" (Stafford) Greenleaf, sharing 30 years of marriage.
Born in Valley Township, PA on December 14, 1932, he was the son of the late Harry Raymond and Margaret (Ford) Greenleaf. Don graduated from Episcopal Academy in 1951, and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware in 1962. Notably, he worked hard for and finally received his master's degree in 2024. Don worked for a total of 38 years with the Downingtown Borough. For 24 of those 38 years he was a borough manager and he retired in 1994. Don was a faithful member of St. James Episcopal Church in Downingtown, and he was currently the longest living member, joining at just four years old in 1936. He was always involved in the Downingtown community, volunteered his time with the Historical Society, and was awarded Citizen of the Year in 1983. He was past president of the Lions Club and the founder and chairman of their golf outing. Don was also a member of Masonic Lodge #309 for 70 years.
Surviving in addition to his wife Gerrie are his nephews Ford Greenleaf, John Greenleaf, Peter Greenleaf and Adam Greenleaf. He is also survived by the grandchildren he gained through marriage - Liam, Noah, Maureen, and Shane - all of whom brought great joy to his life and by his grand nieces and nephews, Tessa, Pierce, Paige, Jack and Audrey. He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas R. Greenleaf.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 5, 2025 at St. James Episcopal Church, 409 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown. Family and friends will be received from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Interment will be private with the family.
