Don was predeceased by his loving wife, Patricia "Pat" (Parson) Gricus, who died June 25, 2018. Surviving Don are his step-daughter, Dottie (Brian) McDermott, six grandchildren, Sloane, Liam, Kieran, Courtney, Austin and Conor (Heather), and two great grandchildren (Max and Owen).
Don grew up in Chicago, Illinois, where he later worked for General Motors. Don was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. He also loved classic cars and particularly enjoyed attending the National Hot Rod Association drag race event held in Indiana. Don enjoyed working in the yard and landscaping. Don and Pat both loved their two dogs, 14-year-old shih tzus, Casey and Cody ("the boys"), whom they both cherished to no end. In lieu of flowers or memorials, donations are welcomed to benefit Don and Pat's friend who has adopted the boys with open arms. Please donate at https://www.gofundme.com/casey-and-codys-angel fund.
Don will be buried at the Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington, Wisconsin.

Condolences once again to the family of Don. I only wish I knew he retired here in Florida. I certainly would have visited with him and shared many memories of working at GM.

I am so sorry to hear of Don's passing. We worked together at Electro-Motive in south Chicago. He was a foreman there and I had an office job. I liked his work ethic and his sense of humor. He nicknamed me Purdue because I was a graduate. I will always remember how really cool he was. Condolences to the family.

Don and I were friends and co workers at General Motors. We separated over the years . I looked him up to find out he passed away. Our condolences to the family. You are missed Don!
