With deep sadness and loving remberance, we announce the passing of Donald Grochowski, who left us on June 25. Born on August 4, 1958, Donald lived a life rich in laughter, compassion, and purpose.
He was the beloved son of the late Edward Grochowski Sr and Marion McKenna, and was predeceased by his brothers Alan and Richard Grochowski. Donald is survived by his brother Edward Grochowski Jr., and his cherished niece and nephew Karyn Alberstadt and Joe Grochowski, who were proud to call him family.
Donald was a man who truly lived life with an open heart. He was a successful business owner, known not only for his work ethic but for the integrity, warmth, and generosity he brought into every professional and personal relationship. His giving nature extended well beyond his business- he supported numerous charitable causes throughout his life, most passionately the Friends of the Plymouth Pound in Massachusetts, where he helped countless animals in need.
A lifelong dog lover and rescuer, Donald's home and heart were never without the companionship of his beloved pups. His commitment to their welfare was a constant in his life and a reflection of his deep empathy and kindness.
Donald's spirit shone bright on the dance floor. Dance was more than a hobby- it was his passion, his joy, and a second home. Whether ballroom or swing, Donald poured his heart and soul into each step. Through dance, he found connection, purpose, and a vibrant community that brought him immeasurable happiness. He lit up every room he danced in, not just with skill but with the infectious energy and genuine joy he radiated. His dance family meant the world to him and he in turn brought light and laughter into their lives.
Donald will be remembered as a man who gave freely of his heart, time, and spirit. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched through a shared laugh, a helping hand, or a dance well danced.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Donald's memory can be made to the Friends of the Plymouth Pound at PO Box 578, Manomet, MA 02345, honoring his unwavering devotion to the animals he loved so deeply.
May his spirit dance on and his love continue to shine through all who knew him.
