In Loving Memory of Donald C. Halcomb

Lexington, KY
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donald C. Halcomb, 81, of Lexington, who departed from this world on November 15, 2023, at the University of Kentucky Hospital. Donald was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jimmie Joyce Halcomb.
Born on December 13, 1941, in Leatherwood, KY, to the late Richmond and Geneva Shephard Halcomb, Donald dedicated his life to service as a retired firefighter for the Lexington Fire Department.
Donald is survived by his children, Don A. (Paula) Halcomb, Lisa R. (James) See, and Bryan J. (Kelly) Halcomb. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Max Halcomb, Savannah (Evan) Towles, Tyler (Kylie) See, Haley Halcomb, and Katie Halcomb. He is also survived by his sisters, Brenda (Larry) Gayheart, Maggie Jo (Bonnell) Watts, and Barbara Watts.
A celebration of Donald's life will take place at Kerr Brothers – Harrodsburg Road on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 10:30 AM. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Sunday from 12 PM to 3 PM at the funeral home. Donald will be laid to rest in the Lexington Cemetery.
The Halcomb family expresses gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. May Donald C. Halcomb's soul rest in eternal peace.

Don was one of the perfect role models of how to be a friend, father, grandfather and just a great human being. I learned a lot of how to be all of those by watching and learning from him. A perfect friend who always had a cup of coffee ready to sit and talk about almost anything you wanted to talk about. Hope you and Joyce are having a cup of coffee with Kathie and just holding a place at the table for the rest of us. You will be forever missed but your beautiful family will have you in their hearts forever and ever my friend. God bless your family and friends!
