Donald Edward Hawks, 96, of Glasgow, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow, Kentucky. He was born June 10, 1927 in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late W. P. Hawks and Katie Lee Haynes Hawks. Donald was a lifelong farmer, skilled carpenter, and a proud United States Army veteran. In his later years, he was a talented woodworker, loved attending craft shows, and crafting furniture and other items for his friends and family. He was a member of Hanging Fork Baptist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of 77 years, Rebecca Hawks; one son, Douglas Hawks (Martha); one daughter, Dixie Nunnally (Wallace); three grandchildren, Casey Hawks, Betsy Raines (Derek Johnson), Michael Nunnally (Trisha); four great grandchildren, Cameron Raines, Alex Johnson, Raelyn Nunnally, Owen Nunnally; two half-sisters, Fonda Hawks and Sharon Smith (Dennis); and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Neal Hawks and his sister-in-law, Nell Hawks.
The funeral service for Mr. Hawks will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, April 6th at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Henderson Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by DAV Chapter #20. Visitation will be on Friday afternoon from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Saturday morning until time for the service at the funeral home. I´m so sorry for your loss. I´m Regina from Jr. foods ( retired) I just saw that he passed, I would have came. I thought a lot of Mr.Hawks, he was a sweetheart. I always told him he sure didn´t look his age lol
