Donald Egill Hillman, 79, passed away peacefully at Season's Hospice on August 15th, 2024. Born on December 16, 1944, in Cavalier, ND, Don lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and love for his family.
Don's career spanned several decades, beginning with his long tenure at Border States Electric in Grand Forks, ND. His leadership skills and commitment to excellence led him to the role of General Manager in Williston, ND. In 1986, Don relocated to Rochester, MN, where he continued his professional journey with Peoples Cooperative Services until his retirement in 2014.
Don is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia, who was his steadfast companion and source of joy. He leaves behind his cherished stepchildren, Jennifer (Tony) Mach and Scott (Pauline) Haugen, along with his adored step-grandchildren, Corrigan and Theodore Bailey, and Braylon and Sloane Haugen.
Don's legacy also includes his daughters from his previous marriage to Ann Berry: Lori (Jeff) Peterson and Lisa Morgan. He was a proud grandfather to Caitlin and Shaylie Skjervem, Mason (Haley) Cooper, and Sheldon (Taylor) Rittel. His great-grandchildren, Murphy, Nora Cooper, Kennedy Monroe, and Scottline Rittel, brought immense happiness to his later years.
Don's life was a testament to his unwavering dedication to his family and his work. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 5, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Remembrance and Reception Center (5482 Royal Place NW) in Rochester.
