Donald L. "Donnie" Hooper' age 71 of Gainesville, Georgia passed away at his home, Tuesday, January 20th. He was the middle son of the late Aubrey and Etheleen (Jenkins) Hooper of Gainesville.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Tuesday, January 27, 2026 in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.

Donnie was a 1972 graduate of North Hall High School. He worked at The Gainesville Times after high school, them moved into the insurance business. He later started working at Kroger on Thompson Bridge Road where he worked for over 30 years until his retirement in 2016. Donnie was a charter member of Northlake Baptist Church.

Survivors include Brother and Sister in Law, Douglas and Maritza Hooper, Lilburn Georgia, Sister and Brother in Law, Dana & Greg Wigley, White, Georgia, Niece, Melanie Hooper, Decatur, Georgia, Nephew, Alex Cuda, Acworth, Georgia, Nephew & wife, Andrew and Candace Cuda, Dallas Georgia, Niece and husband, Ashley and Scott Malley, Lilburn Georgia. Great Nephews Liam Malley, Lucas Sipple-Cuda, Logan Cuda and great niece Nora Malley. One surviving Uncle Donald H. Hooper, Gainesville and one aunt and her husband Elsie and Harold Thompson, Tucker Georgia and many cousins.
