Donald J. “Don” Lowery, age 82, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Mercy House of Chambersburg. Born in Harrisonville, PA on December 13, 1942, he was the son of the late Inez Lowery.
Don was a 1960 graduate of CASHS. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force for 15 ½ years. He was a Vietnam Veteran. Don was a Boiler and Heating Technician at Letterkenny Army Depot for over 30 years, where he retired. He was a Charter member, Deacon and Sunday School teacher at Chambersburg Baptist Church. Don spent several years as a volunteer chaplain at Chambersburg Hospital.
Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Carol Truett Lowery, whom he married on April 7, 1962; three children, Steven L. Lowery (Julie Oberholzer), Michael E. Lowery (Kathy), and Sherry M. Wright; four grandchildren, Kaylyn Lowery, Alivia Wenger (Sterling), Jordan Wright (Jamie) and Devin Wright; three great-grandchildren, Valaree, Adler, and Etson; and a step-brother, Ronald Grove (Connie).
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 12 noon in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Pastor John Healy will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 6 – 8 PM one hour prior to the service on Friday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Mercy House, 730 Norland Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201 or Heartland Hospice, 1976 Scotland Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201 or to the Chambersburg Baptist Church, 741 S.
