Donald Johnson

Princeton - Donald Johnson, of Princeton, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 13, 2025, at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Peru, Illinois.

Donald was a lifelong resident of Princeton, a place he called home his entire life. He found comfort and contentment in the simple pleasures that filled his days. He especially enjoyed putting together model kits, taking pride in the patience and care each one required. He also loved watching classic Western movies, often finding joy and familiarity in their stories, and spending quiet time relaxing at home. These moments brought him peace and a sense of happiness that meant so much to him.

Donald was a gentle soul who appreciated routine, familiarity, and the comfort of those around him. He was deeply loved by his family and will be remembered for his quiet presence and the way he found joy in life's smaller, meaningful moments.

He is survived by his loving sister, Linda (Tony) Pekins, and their family, who remained a constant source of support and care throughout his life. Donald was also devotedly cared for by his caregiver, Deb Corey, whose compassion, patience, and kindness went far beyond duty. Her dedication and genuine concern greatly enriched Donald's life, and the family is profoundly grateful for the comfort and care she provided.

Donald will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who shared in his life and cared for him.
