Donald Edward Keenum, a retired service technician from Tri-State Pest Control, died December 24, 2025, at home. Visitation is Tuesday, December 30, 2025, 10:00am - 11:00am at Meredith Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS. Funeral services are 11:00am Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Meredith Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS with burial in the Oakridge Cemetery in Clarksdale, MS. Meredith Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS is handling the arrangements.
Donald Edward Keenum, age 76. Was born on January 13, 1949, in Clarksdale, MS and passed away peacefully December 24, 2025. Donnie was a proud native of Clarksdale, MS, where he lived most of his life. He later moved to Charleston, MS, where he worked for Tri-State Pest Control and met many people that he considered friends, before spending his final days in Madison, AL, surrounded by family. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, an honor he carried with pride throughout his life.
Donnie was married to the love of his life Betty Weaks Keenum and together they built a family, and he was a proud father to his only son, Wes Keenum. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Madison, AL. He had begun to enjoy playing his guitars again after retirement and was proud of his collection.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Wesley Keenum and Vera Alice Keenum Dees; his beloved wife Betty; his son, Wes and his brother Ronnie Keenum.
Donnie leaves behind his sister, Sherry Russell; his brother Mack Dees both of Crystal Springs, MS; his daughter in law Lori Keenum; and the two people that brought him the greatest joy and pride, his grandchildren, James Ryan Keenum and Anabelle Cate Keenum all of Madison, AL. He also leaves behind his loyal companion and best friend, Sky, who was always by his side.
Donnie will always be remembered for his love for his family, his service to his country and his story telling; no matter the conversation being had, he always had a story to tell.
