A visitation will be held on Wednesday November 6, 2024, from 4pm to 7pm at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday November 7, 2024, at 10am at St. Albert The Great Parish 6667 Wallings Rd, North Royalton. 44133.

What can I say about the man I knew from a very young age of 10, to now at age 70? As a beloved friend and neighbor to my parents (Russ & Rosemarie Russo) in the early `60´s, I, the little neighbor boy, remember Don as the mild mannered, next door neighbor dad, camping enthusiast, that was always calm and collected...sometimes walking around his home serenely with a bottle of beer in hand. Years later, when I was a newlywed myself in 1975 and in need of a place to live, Don (and Elaine) generously rented that very same home (next to my childhood home) to me and my new wife Sheila as we started a new life together as a young family. Over the years, I was humbled and honored to remain in touch with Elaine as we shared Christmas cards with handwritten notes inside updating our life status to each other and just plain "catching up" for the next 60 years. It is rare to have a friendship last 5 months or even 5 years anymore, so 60 years is an amazing accomplishment. It speaks to the foundation of friendship laid between you and Elaine and my parents over 60 years ago, and keeping that friendship alive with me. It has been my honor to be your lifelong friend Don, even though we rarely saw or spoke to each other other in person. I will treasure your memory and never forget you. May you rest in eternal peace and may God grant His Grace to your entire family. - Ralph Russo
