Donald Eugene "Don" McEntire

Donald "Don" McEntire, 85, of Fort Thomas, passed away on August 30, 2025, surrounded by his family. Don was born and raised in Towanda, Pennsylvania, and later made Northern Kentucky his home. He married Nancy, and together they raised two sons. Don worked for many years as a physical therapist, managed the Rehab Departments at Bethesda Oak Hospital, and made a lasting impact in the community by starting the soccer program at Highlands High School, where he coached for 12 years.

He loved simple things-fishing, reading, doing puzzles, and going for walks. Don was a familiar face around Tower Park and the neighborhood, always with a pocket full of dog treats and a pack of Fig Newtons. In colder months, you could often find him walking the aisles of Target. He was a longtime member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and will be remembered for his kindness, steady presence, and the legacy he leaves behind.

He was preceded in death by father, Donald McEntire, mother, Katherine McEntire, brothers, John ( Betty Ann) McEntire and Richard (Josephine) McEntire, sister, Peggy (Larry) Putnam. Left to cherish Don's memory are his wife, Nancy McEntire, sons, Brent (Shaun) McEntire and Mark (Christi) McEntire, sister, Sharon (the late David) Pavey, grandchildren; Elizabeth (Ethan) Bernauer, Carter McEntire, Collin McEntire, Carson McEntire, and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at Dobbling Funeral Home, 106 S. Fort Thomas Ave., Fort Thomas, KY 41075. A funeral service will begin at 10:00 am. Family and close friends will proceed to Evergreen Cemetery following the service.
