George Edward "Yatz" Ries Jr

George Edward Ries Jr (Yatz)., 75, of Dayton Ky formally of Cape Coral Florida, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood. George donated his body to UC. He was a Repair Technician with Cincinnati Bell Telephone and Century Link Ft Myers FL, a Vietnam Veteran with the US Navy, he also Volunteered with Ft Thomas Fire Department after returning home. George loved to travel, boating, fishing,woodworking, dirt track racing and motorcycles! George was preceded in death by his parents, George E. & Norma Ries. George is survived by his daughter, Heather L Ries Dayton Ky; brother, Dan (Ginny) Ries of Campbell County Ky; sisters, Barbara (Kevin) Litzler of Cape Coral Fl & Deborah Phelps of Virginia; son, Chris (Tammy) Ries of Somerset Ky; step sons, Brian, David & Jason Weinrich; 6 nieces, 2 nephews and his 2 German Shepherds, Ada & Woodford. Service will be held at later date at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Cajun Navy, 2053 W. Magna Carta Pl., Baton Rouge, LA 70815.
