Donald Mordick Obituary

Donald E. Mordick 1934—2021
Donald E. Mordick, 86, of Freeport, passed away Saturday January 16, 2021 in his home surrounded by family. Donald was born April 14, 1934 in Freeport, the son of Francis and Mary (Meyers) Mordick. He married Rosella "Rose" Mordick on July 18, 1952 in Freeport. Mr. Mordick enjoyed spending time in the outdoors fishing and hunting. Surviving is his wife, Rose Mordick of Freeport; son, Randy (Kathy) Mordick of Freeport, and their daughter Jessica Mordick; daughter, Vickie (Joel) Leiser of Freeport, and their children Scott (Mariah) Leiser and Tammy (Mike) Austin; daughter, Carrie (Rick) Watson and their daughters, Mindi Thiele, Traci Thiele, and Jenna Thiele; and brother, Robert 'Butch" Mordick of Freeport. Also surviving is eight great-grandchildren Tammy and Mike's daughter, Courtney Austin; Mindi's three children, Tyler, Nik, and Lexi Chambers; Scott and Mariah's children, Devin and Kiera Leiser; and Jenna's two children, Micah Thiele and Myles Thiele-Williams. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Francis "Shadow", Fredrick 'Fritz", Kenneth "Pete", and Richard "Dick"; and sisters, Shirley "Shirl", Darlene "Doll", Margaret "Sis", Nancy, and Betty. Cremations rites have been accorded. No services are planned at this time. A memorial has been established in Mr. Mordick's memory.
