Donald "Bud" Moss

With heavy hearts, we share that Donald "Bud" Trerise Moss passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, at the age of 82.

Bud was born and raised in Hopkinton, New Hampshire, the son of Donald and Vera Moss, and the brother of Carol and Barbara. After high school he proudly served in the United States Air Force, spending time in Nebraska where he discovered a love for electronics.

When he returned home, fate brought him together with the love of his life, Dianne Iannuzzo. He first spotted her at the gas station where he worked, and before long she was finding excuses to stop by again and again. Within three months they were married, beginning a life filled with laughter, love, and family. Bud and Dianne were married for 54 years, sharing countless memories before her passing in January 2019. He missed her every single day thereafter.

Bud spent 25 years working for IBM in Poughkeepsie and Kingston, NY, before finishing his career in Endicott. After retiring from IBM, he wanted a change of pace-something far from an office. Because he loved driving, earning his CDL license made perfect sense, and he spent another ten years happily on the road with New England Motor Freight before fully retiring.

What truly defined Bud was not just his hard work, but his heart. He adored his family, and nothing made him happier than being with them. He loved babies, ice cream, and simply being outdoors. Animals were always close to him-his loyal dogs, the chipmunks that scurried through the yard, and the birds he faithfully fed each day. He and Dianne loved playing cards with their friends while raising their children, filling their home with laughter and connection. Sometimes Bud didn't say the words "I love you," but instead he would say "drive safe," which carried the very same meaning-his way of letting his kids know just how much he cared. Whether riding his motorcycle, helping out in the apple orchards, or mowing the lawn, Bud found joy in life's simple pleasures.

We are deeply grateful to the staff at United Methodist Hilltop Campus for the care and comfort they provided in his final days.

Bud leaves behind his children, Bethany, Donald (and his wife Tracy), and Julanne; his sisters, Carol and Barbara; and his grandchildren, Cheyenne, Zachary, Amanda, Michael, and Avery-all of whom will carry his love forward.

In keeping with Bud's wishes, there will be no services. Instead, we invite those who loved him to honor his memory by supporting something he cared about deeply-animals-through a donation to the Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA.

Bud's life reflected a kind of quiet New England stoicism-he didn't often put his feelings into words, but his kindness, gentle ways, and steady presence spoke volumes. Underneath that reserved exterior was a soft heart, and his family will always remember the love he expressed in his own thoughtful ways.
