Viola Alice Padgett

Viola A. Padgett, 93, passed away peacefully at home early Sunday morning, August 17, 2025. She was born on March 27, 1932 the daughter of the late Albert and Wealthy (Strong) Howe; she was predeceased by her husband William in 1987; two brothers, three sisters and two grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Carolyn (Lewis) Ormsby, NC, Michael (Gloria) Padgett, Owego, Marilyn Harding, Newark Valley, Sue (Charles) Meade also from Newark Valley, Malinda (Paul) Bismark, Endicott, Ronda (Robert) Delahanty from Watertown; one sister, Marion Ulrich; 16 grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews and her special friend Karen Strong.

Throughout her life Viola worked for several local businesses including The Deep Well, Endicott-Johnson, and at the Museum located in Owego. She loved being outside and was always ready to tackle projects around her home, she enjoyed mowing her lawn and decorating for the holidays. Viola was the happiest spending time with her family.

Funeral Services will be held at Richards Funeral Home, 3670 Waverly Rd, Owego NY 13827 on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 11:00am with Rev. Mark Osborn, officiating. Burial will follow in Tioga Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call from 10:00 until the time of service.
