Donald Murphy Obituary

Wichita, Kansas - Donald "Don" Murphy, age 88, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 18, 2025. Don deeply valued time spent with family and friends. He was dearly loved by many friends and will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generous spirit, and the lasting relationships he built throughout his life. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Stella (Alexander) Murphy; brother, Robert Murphy; sister Dorthy Gay. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Donna L. Murphy of Wichita; his daughter, Delynn (Robin) Nelson of Rose Hill, Kansas, and their children Ella and Ethan; his daughter, Dayna (Kent) Tullis of Derby, Kansas, and children Isaac (Joy) and Olivia; and great-grandchildren, Oliver and Henry Tullis. Memorial Service will be at 10 am, Monday, December 29, 2025, at Hillside Christian Church.

I'm so sorry we weren't able to make the funeral. Don was such a sweet soul and I know he loved Donna & the girls fiercely. I know I and my family, growing up, were better for knowing him (as well as Donna, of course).
While we weren't biologically related, we were always treated like family and it was so appreciated.
Sending love to Donna, Delynn & Dayna and all the extended family.
