Donald Richard Payne, born on March 27, 1934, in Glasgow, Kentucky, left this world on April 17, 2025, at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow, Kentucky. He was a cherished individual who made a significant impact on the lives of those around him and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A member of the Old Zion Church, Donald was known for his commitment to both his faith and community. Throughout his life, he demonstrated kindness, love, and an unwavering dedication to his family.
Donald is survived by his beloved children: Vickie Bean (Ray), Richard Payne (Jeanette), Michelle Johnson (Adam), Stacy Wyatt (Desmond Carroll), and Kelly Furlong (Brad). He also leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren who adored him: Kim Dishon, Nicole Nuckols (Chad), Austin Furlong (Morgan), Cameron Furlong, Dakota Wyatt, and Madison Wyatt. The joy of being a great-grandfather was evident in his relationships with Sawyer Wyatt, Mackayla Brown, Serenity Wyatt, Kingston Cross, Stetson Furlong, and Statler Furlong.
He is also survived by his loving sisters: Barbara Grimes, Linda Payne, Brenda Scott, Phyllis King, and Beverly Simon, along with several nieces and nephews who cherished their time with him.
Donald was preceded in death by both his father, Vernon Jewell Payne, and his mother, Mae Burgeon Payne. He was also welcomed into eternal rest by his beloved wife, LaFelle Rich Payne, as well as his brothers: Albert, Floyd, Odell, Melvin, and Larry Payne, and two infant brothers.
Visitation will be held at A.F Crow & Son Funeral Home in Glasgow on April 21, 2025, starting at 4:00 PM and concluding at 8:00 PM. A funeral service will follow on April 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the same location, with burial taking place at Old Zion Cemetery at 12:00 PM.
The memory of Donald Richard Payne will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy of love and commitment to family will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
