Donald Von "Dink" Picklesimer Sr., 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in the early morning of Saturday, April 19, 2025. A devoted Christian, he loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was a faithful member of Lakewood Baptist Church in Harrison, TN. Of which he was a charter member. Dink loved going to church and never missed a service he was able to attend. Don loved racing and spent many hours at the racetrack with his son Donnie and his grandson's Andy and Matt, along with many friends. He was always working on some project and loved tinkering with anything to do with engines.
He retired from McKee Foods after a dedicated career and found great joy in his family and faith. Dink was preceded in death by his Loving wife of 65 years, Louella "Lupe" Picklesimer, and beloved son, Paul Picklesimer, who went to heaven at the age of 15, as well as his parents, Earl Picklesimer and Martha Opal Picklesimer of Harrison, TN. Also, by his sisters Wisteria (Terry) Smith and Gwendolyn (Gwen) Hindman and brothers James (Bud), Nolan (Ruke) and Hoyle (Chunk) Picklesimer.
He is survived by his son, Donnie Picklesimer, and his wife Lori Picklesimer; and their sons, Wade Picklesimer, Andy Picklesimer (wife Devin Picklesimer), and Logan Picklesimer. He is also survived by his daughter, Karen Steward, and her husband, Kirk Steward; and their sons, Matthew Steward (wife Sarah Steward) and Jacob Steward.
Don was a cherished great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren: Jordynn, Colton, Weston, Adalynn, and Brooklynn Steward, and Waylon Picklesimer, along with numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Dink's kindness, fun loving ways and unwavering faith, and dedication to his family and church left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but joyfully remembered.
A celebration of Don's life will be held at Lakewood Baptist Church on Saturday 26, 2025. Visitation will be 10:30 am to 12:30 pm and the service at 12:30 pm. Burial to follow at Harrison Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lakewood Baptist Church building fund in his memory.
