Donald Ray Robbins, 90, passed away Wednesday morning, May 21, 2025.
Visitation: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025 at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.
Graveside Service: 10 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Memory Gardens of the Valley, 5600 Mineral Wells Hwy., Weatherford.
Donald was born November 28, 1934, in Benham, Kentucky. He was the youngest boy of six children. He was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. On July 3, 1952, at age 17, he joined the United States Air Force. He served his country for 30 years and retired August 1, 1982, as Chief Master Sergeant. During his military career he was honored with the following achievements, awards and medals: Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Military Education Ribbon, and Air Force Good Conduct Medal. He graduated from the University of Maryland (Magna Cum Laude) with a Bachelor of Science degree in both Business Management and Psychology.
Donald married the love of his life, Hellen Robbins on April 2, 1955, with a lifelong marriage of 65 years and they had three children. He loved his family, his Country and the Cowboys. His priority was always his family. His devotion, love, kindness and generosity came naturally and was given unconditionally to his family. Donald was strong, courageous, resilient and always present with anything that he did. No matter what choices, good or bad, his children or grandchildren made he always walked the walk with us. His favorite saying was “put your big girl britches on and deal with it”. If you have a problem, confront it, and put it in the past as you will have many more problems to tackle. He taught his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to be strong, independent and most of all, to have integrity and morals. There are not enough words to describe what a wonderful and good person he was.
Our family was blessed to have him as ours, and he will be extremely missed. Until we meet again, you will forever be in our hearts.
Donald was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Robbins; daughter, Lynda Sullivan; and wife, Hellen Robbins.
Survivors include his daughter, Sheree Jones; grandson, Bryce Naydan; granddaughters, Lindsey Naydan, and Dawn Sullivan; great-granddaughters, Cherri Steinloski, Ashley Stevens, and Madison Morgan; great-grandson, Tabor Steinloski; great great-grandsons, Kayden Corr, and Logan Stevens; and great great-granddaughter, Winnifred Covillo.
