Milton, WI - Donald J Roberts, 92, died on December 5, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Janesville, WI. He was born on September 7, 1932 in Batavia, IA, the son of Bernard and Margaret (Sasseen) Roberts. He graduated from Fairfield High School and attended the University of Iowa for two years before entering the Army in 1952 and serving through 1954. On June 6, 1953, He was united in marriage to Kathleen M. Clark. Don went on to graduate from Simpson College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He had many different roles in his working career living in Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. He retired from the Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC), Beloit, WI. Don was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Milton serving many years in the Knights of Columbus (4th Degree). He also volunteered for the 4-H Club and was a 4-H Summer Camp counselor well into his 70s. He remained active in his 80s volunteering at the Gathering Place in Milton, serving on their board and going on a once-in-a-lifetime Vets Roll trip to Washington, D.C. He was an avid golfer all his life and enjoyed participating in different golf leagues while making many new friends along the way. After retiring, Don and Kathy enjoyed travelling in their motorhome and especially enjoyed winters in Texas, Arizona, and California. Don is survived by his children: John J. (Christine) Roberts; Paul K. Roberts (Irma Salgado); and Marcee (Kevin) Bergeron; his grandchildren: Madeleine (Anthony) N. Vincent, Benjamin J. Bergeron, and Quinten Wagman; his great-grandchildren Dylan Vincent and Luca Vincent; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen, his parents and two brothers: Frank Roberts and Dick Roberts. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 AM, on Monday, December 16, 2024 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Milton with Fr. Patrick Wendler officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Milton. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at the Albrecht Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Milton from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 10 AM until the start of the service at the church on Monday.
