John R. Bergman, 88, of Milton, WI, passed away Saturday May 24, 2025, at Nazareth House in Stoughton, WI. John was born on October 15, 1936, in Sparta, WI to Harold and Louise (Shaw) Bergman. He attended St. John's Lutheran Church School and Sparta High School. John relocated to Janesville where he worked various jobs before he was hired at GM. He worked for GM for 47 years, retiring in 2001. He married Doreen Tucker on January 5, 1957, and resided in the Milton area. John stayed busy tearing down old houses and barns, remodeling homes, working on cars, fishing, hunting and yearly trips to Canada to fish. He loved his spicy foods, teasing the little kids and his dogs. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Doreen; daughter, Susan of Milton, WI; son, Craig of Cedar Rapids, IA; grandchildren, Adam, Mags, Miranda; 11 great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Jean (Norm) Winchell, sister-in-law, Ruth Tucker and many many many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ted and Keith. BIG BAD JOHN will be greatly missed by his extended family. Funeral Services will at 1:00 on Monday, June 2, 2025, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 210 S. Ringold St. Janesville. Visitation will be from 11:30 until the time of service at church. Burial will be at 12:00PM on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Sparta, WI. For online condolences please visit www.albrechtfuneralhomes.com.
