Lois Ann Conklin, 91, of
Milton, WI entered her eternal rest at Cedar Crest Retirement Community on July 3, 2025. She was born on May 3, 1934, in the home her Grandfather Morris built on Clear Lake. She was the sixth child born to her parents Katherine Morris and John Gallagher. Lois attended Milton Junction Grade School and graduated from Milton Union High School in 1952. She attended Stout State College, Menomonie, WI, and on April 24, 1954, married Charles Peter Conklin at St. Mary Catholic Church in
Milton, WI. They were the parents of ten children. She was a Den Mother and a supporter of all their activities. As a family they were instrumental in the development and management of Blackhawk Campground on the shore of Clear Lake, in
Milton, WI from 1967-1981.
Lois was widowed in 1981 with the three youngest children still in school. She worked as a nurse's aide, in the hot lunch program, and as a telephone secretary. In 1987 she entered the Food Service Management program at Blackhawk Technical College and graduated in 1989 with an associate's degree. She worked as a Food Service Supervisor at the Rock County Health Care Center until retiring in 1999.
Lois enjoyed cooking for family and friends and took great joy in making special birthday cakes for her grandchildren. She believed that her children and grandchildren were gifts from God and rejoiced in their lives and accomplishments. She was a member of St. Mary Church, attended a Cursillo, was a St. Monicas Circle board member, Milton Historical Society board member, Lois Club member, Friend of the Library member, and participated in the writing of "The History of Clear Lake".
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Katherine and John Gallagher, her special Aunt Lois and Uncle James Hart, her brothers John Gallagher and Morris (Pat) Gallagher, her beloved sisters, Marguerite (& Charles) Carroll, Sarah Gallagher and Kathryn O' Donnell, her sons David Conklin and Steven Conklin, daughter-in-law Belinda Conklin, and nephew Michael Gallagher.
She is survived by her children Paul Conklin, Fox Lake, WI, Mark (Rose) Conklin,
Milton, WI, Katherine (Scott) Thulien, Appleton, WI, James (Judy) Conklin, Grand Haven, MI, Julie (David) Zink,
Milton, WI, Daniel Conklin, Louisville, KY, Mary (Scott) Carran, Monticello, WI, and Jennifer Solem,
Milton, WI, twenty-four grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

A funeral mass will be held at Albrecht Funeral Home, 828 S. Janesville St.,
Milton, WI on July 19, 2025 at 1pm, with visitation 11 am-1 pm. Luncheon to follow at The Gathering Place, 715 Campus St.,
