Mark John Conklin, age 74, went home peacefully to be with Jesus his Lord and Savior on October 2, 2025.
Mark was born on August 28, 1951 to John William Conklin and Mary Elizabeth Martin in Flint, Michigan. He grew up on the family farm in Swartz Creek, Michigan and graduated from Swartz Creek High School in 1970. He then went on to Northern Michigan University in Marquette where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in geography in 1974.
On November 1, 1975 Mark married the love of his life, Nancy Pero. They had two beautiful children and provided a home full of warmth, love, faith and compassion. Mark worked for Cleveland Cliffs for 10 years after graduation from college. He then started Superior Cleaning Services, a small cleaning company in Marquette. It grew into a successful commercial and residential business.
Mark enjoyed many wonderful times at the family cabin in Gwinn, being with friends, golfing, watching old classic black and white movies as well as cheering on the Detroit Tigers and Lions.
Mark was an extremely proud father and grandfather. Family was extremely important to him and he always put them first. Mark was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Marquette Golf Course, and was a proud Eucharistic minister at St. Louis the King Church.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Nancy of 49 years and 11 months; son, Tony; daughter, Carley (Dave) Jensen; grandchildren, Samuel, Lucas,
Lyla, Elijah, Ethan; and many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mark will forever be in our hearts and forever missed.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, John, mother, Elizabeth and brother, Thomas.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 at St. Louis the King Church in Harvey Michigan. Visitation will be from 10 to 12 at the church with the Funeral Mass beginning at 12 o'clock and a luncheon with eulogy to follow in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St Louis the King, 264 Silver Creek Rd, Marquette, Mi 49855 or LaVigne Home, 4085 Lapeer Rd, Burton, MI 48509.

Mark hosted the building of our Homecoming float and we all had a blast! I'll never forget Mark, as none of us will; he made everything fun. So sad for Nancy and his children/grand children. RIP, Mark.
