I was so sorry to hear about Don´s passing. My sincere condolences to Don´s family.
Don and I worked closely together at FDOT over the last 25 years. He was not only one of my favorite coworkers but also a friend. I enjoyed hearing about what was going on with his life and family, how much he was bench pressing and how fast he was rowing. We also enjoyed sharing book and Netflix series recommendations from time to time. It is difficult to express how much his friendship meant to me but he will be sorely missed.

Don taught me many lessons about living my best life. I always loved him for his free spirit and undying sense of adventure. He had this ability to bring calmness to any situation. The world has lost a true Viking. He will be greatly missed. Sending thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

Don and I were good friends a long time ago and while our paths did not cross in the many years since, I still consider him among the best of friends I have known. We are all fortunate to have known him.

I will always remember the wonderful experiences and stories that Olivia shared about how wonderful Don was as her dad. Whether it was taking her sailing or going scalloping, it was obvious th at he was a loving and committed parent. It was obvious how much Don loved Olivia, and that was shared 100 times more by her.
