Donald Silverthorne Obituary

Donald "Don" Gray Silverthorne, born on September 14, 1963, in the heart of Davidson County, NC., passed in the comfort of his favorite armchair at his residence on October 23rd, 2024 at the age of 61. Don was known widely as a self-proclaimed ladies' man and a legendary electrician. A man who could always make his daughter laugh.
A skilled electrician by trade, Don's hands brought light to countless homes and spaces. Though his career is one of practicality and precision, his interest spoke to a soul that cherished joy and leisure whether it was the thrilling roar of NASCA engines, the tranquility of casting a line while fishing, or the simple pleasure of watching cartoons; Don found happiness in moments big and small.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine Crawford and Jesse Silverthorne, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms.
Don leaves behind a motley crew of loved ones, this includes his cherished daughter Tina Silverthorne Kelly and her husband James, along with their children Ashe and James, who were the apples of Don's eye, his sisters; Connie White and Dee Hagensen, who remain steadfast pillars of the family, his close nephew Derrick Brown and best friend Stanley Mayo, and a beloved uncle. Don also leaves behind many other nieces and nephews that will remember his laughter and love.
In keeping with Don's style, there won't be a traditional service- no fuss, no frills, just a private celebration on a day when the sun shines just right. So, raise a glass, tell a joke, or catch an episode of " Looney Tunes" in his honor, because that is precisely how Don would've wanted it.
Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service / Washington Funeral & Cremation is honored to be assisting the Silverthorne family.
