Donald O. Smith

Donald O. Smith, age 91, known as Buddy by immediate family and close friends, passed away on November 12, 2025, in Knoxville, TN.
He was born on July 25, 1934 in West Memphis, AR to parents Hiley and Flora Smith.
Don was married to Shirley Joan Walker for 38 years (1954-1992); Shirley passed away in October, 1992, from pancreatic cancer. He worked for Whirlpool Corporation, Consumer Services Division, as District Manager for 27 years. Don relocated to the Knoxville area in 1998, where he met Patsy Ann McDaniel, and they were married in 1999. Don was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Don was preceded in death by his brothers, James and Howard, and his sister, Bonnie Dagley. He is survived by his wife, Patsy; daughter, Donna (Mike); son, Michael Todd (Sandy); and grandson, Jake.
A private burial will take place at Memorial Park South Woods in Memphis, Tennessee, where Don will be laid to rest in peace.
His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
