Donald Ray "Donnie" Smith

Donald "Donnie" Ray Smith passed away at his home in East Ridge, TN, at the age of 67. Donnie was born on February 5, 1958, in Chattanooga, TN. Don had a career in the automotive industry spanning over 40 years. His automotive resume started in 1983 at Standifer Nissan, he was the general manager for Nelson Bowers at Suzuki of Chattanooga and Saturn of Chattanooga. Don spent the last years of his working life as a wholesale agent for Charlie and Jerry Smith at S&S Motors. Don was trusted and respected by all that knew him. Don loved his family and granddaughters, cars, golf, and the TN Vols.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Louie F. Smith; and his daughter, Ashton Brooke Smith; and his grandmother, Viola Crowson.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Cinde Smith; his granddaughters, Diamond Stephens and Iceley Stephens; his mother, Nancy Smith; his brothers, Dale (Denise) Smith and Ronnie (Rene) Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends; and his cat, Charley Blu.

A memorial visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home in Rossville, GA.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2026, at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory in Rossville. Burial of ashes will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson, TN.

The family would like to thank the Hospice of Chattanooga for their exceptional care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be accepted to benefit the education of Don's granddaughters.
