Donald Southern

Mr. Donald Southern, 78, resident of Trinity, went home to be with the Lord peacefully with wife Gail, grandson Carmen, and niece Rhonda by his side on November 14, 2025, at his residence.

He was born November 3, 1947, in Thomasville, NC, a son to Wakefield R. and Myrtle Marie Tilly Southern. As a resident of the High Point, Jamestown and Trinity area all his life, he worked as an interior motorcoach craftsman and was a member of Highland Baptist Church. Throughout his life, faith, kindness and a hard-working nature were defining traits. He always extended a helping hand and a selfless attitude toward others. He was loved and will be dearly missed by many.

On February 16, 1968, he married the former Gail Fields, who survives of the residence. Also surviving are two daughters, Renee Southern Melvin (fiancée Jamie) of Trinity and Joanna Lee Southern (Stacy) of Wilmington, Delaware; a sister, Joan Gardner (David) of Archdale; and two grandchildren, Leah Melvin of Summerfield and Donald Carmen Southern of Trinity. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine siblings.
