Pauline Brewer Garner

Mrs. Pauline Elizabeth Brewer Garner, 96, resident of Lexington, died November 16, 2025 at her home.

She was born December 10, 1928 in Durham, North Carolina, a daughter to Bert A. and Elsie Barker Brewer. In 1950, she married Nolan S. Garner, and together they moved to Lexington in 1978. Mrs. Garner was a long-time secretary with Pilot View Woodworks, retiring in 1992. She also was a member of Heath Church in Lexington and formerly attended Community Evangelical Methodist Church in Thomasville.

Surviving is her daughter, Norma Jean Smith of Lexington; two sons, Nolan Ricky Garner (Kathy) of Lexington and Brent Raymond Garner of Lexington; a sister, Virginia Sewell of High Falls; four grandchildren, Beth Gordon (Brian) of Salem, VA, Benjamin Garner (Erin) of Kernersville, Paula Smith of Lexington and Jessica Smith of Lexington; and five great grandchildren, Hannah, Micah, Kenan, Karis and Lola. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Garner; three brothers, Earl Brewer, Marvin Brewer and Raymond Brewer; and three sisters, Lois Purvis, Ada Mae Hicks and Phyllis Ritter.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Heath Church in Lexington with Rev. Dan Downing officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 3:00-4:00 p.m., at the church. Memorials may be directed to Heath Church at 1375 Heath Church Rd.
