Donald "Bruce" Stephenson

Donald "Bruce" Stephenson, 79, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on February 20, 2026 after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bettylu Zeh and Ural Stephenson; his sister, Carolee Stephenson; and his stepsister Mary Jo Wall.

He is survived by his daughter Staci McGranaghan and husband Michael McGranaghan; stepbrother Al Zeh; and stepbrother Billy Zeh. He leaves behind many more relatives and friends.

Bruce was born in Watonga, Oklahoma. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from Oklahoma City University. He practiced law in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma until his retirement.

Bruce was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees, faithfully believing that every season was the season. Whether celebrating a big win or passionately questioning a call from the couch, he wore his Yankees pride boldly.

In the fall, Saturdays were reserved for cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners. He coached every play from his living room, certain the team could hear him and benefit from his expert advice.

Music was the soundtrack of his life. He had a deep love for songs that told stories and lifted spirits. Whether turning up the volume on a favorite tune, singing along without hesitation, or sharing a song he thought everyone needed to hear, music was one of his greatest joys. There was always a melody playing somewhere nearby.

He also had a soft spot for dogs. He never met one he didn't immediately befriend, greeting each with a scratch behind the ears and a kind word.

Known for his sharp wit and perfectly timed humor, he had a gift for making people laugh even on their hardest days. His humor was generous, his loyalty steadfast, and his presence unforgettable.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
