Donald was a kind and thoughtful friend who had a great sense of humor. I will miss him very much. He always said how he loved his family

What a wonderful guy; he was that rare combination of fun, warmth, honesty, and wisdom. We 'met' on Facebook after February 14, 2020, when I married Mike Krisch, his nephew. I truly regret never getting to meet Uncle Don in person, but he had a knack for making me feel like we had been friends forever. He was so very kind and supportive to us during the pandemic. Don shared my concern about Mike having to report to work at ShopRite during that stressful time, and I know he went out of his way to 'check-in' on us.
I hope your warm memories of Uncle Don will bring you a smile. I will miss him!
With sincere condolences,
Barbara (Krisch) McAleese

Uncle Don was a wonderful man. He played at being gruff and tough but at his core he had a huge heart. If you got him talking about his dogs or grandkids he showed his heart.
As a kid he teased us and would squeeze our hands when we shook hands. Saying, "say uncle". He made us feel important as many adults are unable to do.
When I became an uncle, I told him I tried to pattern myself after him. I would always add that I was a newer, bigger and better version. I'd assure him that he was still valued because the corvette though vastly better wouldn't exist without the Model T.
He could take a joke as well as make a joke. Yet another wonderful characteristic that is exceedingly rare in this world. I will miss him but I will always have vivid memories.
In closing, I know my father is glad to have such a cool guy in heaven. My father Stephen absolutely adored uncle Don. Aunt Patsy lived with my parents and Uncle Don passed muster with my father. My father always looked forward to seeing Uncle Don.

I worked with Don years ago with Johnson Controls. Just before I got out of my time he had me pick up a 10´ piece of 1/4" tubing, Don had the front and I had the back, and we walked multiple floors of Founders Hall at U of P hospital. Don yelled every 5´ or so " Oh, my aching back" to get everyone´s attention. Hysterical. That was only one incident. I later worked with his son-in-aw Mike I at JCI. Good people all.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend. God Bless Don and all his family
My sincerest condolences,
Ed Batcho
