Donald E. Taylor, Jr, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, at KU Medical Center, Kansas City, KS. He was born on January 30, 1954, to parents Donald E. Taylor, Sr., and Geraldine (Davis) Taylor-Moundy in Hiawatha, KS.

Don married Rita (Straub) on Dec. 28, 1973, in Ellinwood, Kansas. Together, they shared an enjoyment of travelling and fishing together.

Donald earned a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science from K-State University. Over the years, he worked for SarTech Corporation.

Donald is survived by his wife Rita, Manhattan; sons, Jarrod (Michelle) Taylor, Wamego, KS; Lee (Megan) Taylor, Eskridge, KS; his mother, Geraldine; a brother, Edward (Pam) Taylor, Jetmore, KS; sisters, Susan (Emmett) Aistrup, Hanston, KS, Jody Taylor, Larned, KS; and 7 grandchildren, Julia (Ector) Diaz, Jordan (Karly) Taylor, Joslyn Taylor, Jace Taylor, Michael Taylor, Lacy Taylor, Mathew Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald, Sr.; his step-father, Don Moundy; and 2 great-grandkids, Nikolas and Cecelio Diaz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 16, 2025, at St. Isidore's Catholic Student Center, Manhattan, KS.

A visitation will be held the evening prior from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, with reciting of the rosary beginning at 7:00 P.M.

Memorials may be made to Birthright International, Tunnel to Towers, or PreBorn Ministries, in care of Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Ave, Manhattan, KS 66502
