Donald Tea Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lynch Funeral Home - Caddo Mills on Mar. 30, 2026.
Donald James Tea, age 83, passed away peacefully at his home in Caddo Mills, Texas, on March 29, 2026. Born on September 5, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to LeGrande and Mary Tea, Donald grew up in Brigham City and graduated from Box Elder High School. In 1961, he married the love of his life, Darlene, just as he began his service in the United States Navy. He served his country with pride while stationed in Guam.

Donald was a man of the outdoors. He raised his five children primarily in Colorado, Wyoming, and Nevada. He owned a logging company in Colorado that allowed him to spend his workdays among the trees he loved. An avid fisherman and hunter, he was always on the lookout for a trophy buck and could often be found on a riverbank with a hand-tied fly, waiting for the big one. Whether he was hauling mobile homes across the country or working the oil fields, Donald's industrious spirit was matched only by his love for the wilderness.

Donald was a man of steadfast and profound faith. He loved the Lord deeply, and his devotion was the compass that guided him through every chapter of his life, providing him with a foundation of strength and grace.

Above all else, Donald cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to Darlene and a proud patriarch who poured his heart into his children and grandchildren. For Donald, family wasn't just a priority-it was his greatest legacy, and he took immense joy in watching his branches grow to include five generations.

Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Darlene Tea; his children, Doug Tea and wife Holly of Montrose, CO, Darla Foster and husband Steve of Caddo Mills, TX, Debra Welsh of Caddo Mills, TX, Dawna Accountius and husband Matt of Wolfe City, TX, and Danny Tea and wife Mindy of Royse City, TX. His legacy continues through his 16 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his brothers, David Tea and wife Rita, and Kelvin Tea and wife Beverly; and his sister, Sharon Abraham.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, LeGrande and Mary Tea, and his sister, Deanna.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday April 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Lynch Funeral Home Chapel in Caddo Mills, TX.
