Donald Steven Terrell, age 73 of Buchanan, passed away Monday, October 20, 2025, in a local hospital. Born in Bowdon, Georgia, on August 13, 1952, he was the son of the late Ezra Cornell Terrell and the late Martha Estell Huckeba Terrell. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his sisters, Deborah Terrell Fugate and Diane Terrell Nixon, and his brother, Dennis Terrell.
A graduate of Bremen High School, Donald proudly enlisted in the United State Marine Corps, where he rose to the rank of Corporal. After completing his time in the service, Donald began a career at Southwire where he worked for many years as a supervisor. Never idle, after retiring from Southwire, Donald worked at Atlanta Structural Concrete. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, watching his favorite football team, the Georgia Bulldogs, and his favorite baseball team, the Atlanta Braves. Donald is fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, and friends as a great card player and an expert Backgammon player. Donald was a friend to many, and his sweet and gentle spirit will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish his memories are his sister and brother-in-law, Michelle & John Chandler; his nieces and nephews and their spouses: Faith Barkley, Lynn Nixon, Hope & Johnny Flanagan, Chris Fugate, Leigh & Chad Eason, Jacob & April Hannan, John Chandler, Billy Chandler, and Michael Chandler; his special friends: Bradley Blue, Ashley Blue, Brooke Jones and Ryan Jones; and several great nieces and nephews.
A time of gathering and visitation to honor Donald Terrell will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel.
Following the visitation, Donald will be cremated.
