Donald Eugene Thompson

Donald Eugene Thompson Sr., 81, of Chesnee, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on February 21, 2026. He was born on February 2, 1945, in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Donald was a loving, dedicated father, grandfather, and friend. Who loved his family, his home, and the quiet life of the country. He found joy in the everyday things time spent outdoors, thrifting,sitting on the porch, spending time with family, and being surrounded by the people he loved most.

He is survived by his faithful best friend and beloved dog, Blue Belle.

Left to cherish his memory are his children:

Daughter, Amanda "Mandy" Thompson; her children Andrew Thompson Gregory and Grant Thompson Gregory and wife Lexi Bray Gregory.

Daughter, Angie Thompson Bradley and husband Craig Bradley; her children Roman Hoefling, Hallie Hoefling, Joseph Bradley, and Lanie Bradley; and grandchildren Oaklee Grace, Reese Bradley, and Remi Bradley.

Son, Douglas E. Thompson and wife Laura Thompson; their children Abigail Thompson and Maggie Thompson.

Son, Donald "Clint" Thompson Jr. and wife Sherri Thompson; their children Heatherly Ardito and husband Thomas Ardito and their children Cayden and Brooklyn; and Shelby Thompson and fiancé Wesley Able.

Son, Darrin Thompson and wife Donna; grandchildren Preston Thompson and wife Taylor, Kallie Karasch and husband Jacob, and Amy Fox; great-grandchildren James Thompson, Luke Thompson, Henry Karasch, Louie Karasch, and Jada Fox.

He was preceded in death by his step-grandson, Eric Fox.

Donald will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love for his family, and the simple, honest life he lived. His memory will carry on in the hearts of those who loved him.
