Donald Eugene Witt, 78, of Shoals, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Born December 1, 1947, in Shoals, he was the son of Earl Clayton Witt and Doris Imogene (Hopkins) Witt.
Donald married Phyllis Mitchell on January 20, 1967; and she survives.
He was a lifelong farmer and retired from U.S. Gypsum.
Donald enjoyed farming, spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids, going to the casino, mowing, and riding his buggy.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Phyllis; children, Robert Eugene (Heather) Witt and Timothy Wayne Witt; grandchildren, Brian (Amanda) Dorsey, Mandy Witt, Stevie (Hillary) Witt, Donnie (HayLee) Witt, Cassidy (fiancé Layton) Witt, Zeke Wells, and Kylie Murray; great-grandchildren, Bentlee, Braylee, Rayne, Rowen, PeneLope, and Barrett Witt, and Josten, Jaitlyn, Jaiven, Janine, and Jacson Dorsey; loved as a daughter, Diana Friedman; sibling, Peggy Carrico; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; and 5 sisters.
Funeral service will be at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care with Pastor Mike Schlaegel officiating.
Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. until the service hour on Saturday at the Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Martin County Cancer Patient Services in memory of Donald E. Witt.
