Williamsport, MD – Donald W. "Butch" Younker, Jr., 72, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at his home.
He was born on April 29, 1952, in Hagerstown, MD to the late Donald W. Sr. and Frances Inez (Ragland) Younker.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Lee (Zimmerman) Younker on October 19, 2023. They were married on July 24, 1970.
Butch was a 1970 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.
He was previously employed by the City of Hagerstown Public Works Division.
Butch enjoyed making deer bologna and jerky, hunting, fishing, crabbing, and loved eating seafood. He also enjoyed cooking, family dinners, working on small engine repairs, and helping people with their lawn and garden equipment.
He is survived by his son Donald W. "Donnie" Younker, III and his wife Angela of Williamsport, MD; daughter Tori L. Younker of Williamsport, MD; brother William Terry Younker of Hagerstown, MD; nephew Terry L. Younker; grandchildren Sean M. Younker, Amanda K. Giffin, and Tiffany Harold; great grandchildren Elias, Sky, Dakota, Kiley, Madisyn, Sylas, Liam, and Kai.
Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his grandson Donald W. Younker, IV.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Monday for the convenience of family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park Hagerstown, MD on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 11:30 am with Rev. Dr. G.T. Schramm officiating.
