Donald A. Zimmers Jr.

PLATTSBURGH – Donald A. Zimmers, Jr., 75, of Abenaki Rd., passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side.
He was born December 25, 1949 in Onondaga, NY., the son of Donald and Elizabeth (Black) Zimmers.
Don attended school in Syracuse, he entered the military and was a Marine Veteran, serving from July 1969 to July of 1973. He was a long-haul truck driver, hauling from New York to Florida for many years.
Don married Diana Clausen in Plattsburgh on November 10, 2001. He was a member of the Peru VFW and enjoyed trucking, hiking and watching wrestling on TV.
Survivors include his wife Diana Zimmers of Plattsburgh; son Donald Zimmers III and his husband Gary; daughters, Suzanna (David) Blair of Tennessee and Faith Allen Zimmers of Plattsburgh; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Don was predeceased by his parents; sisters Donna, Mary and Peggy; brother Jim Zimmers.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. Military honors will be provided at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel.
