Donna Joan Andren

Donna Joan Andren (nee Alcini), age 84, a resident of Troy since 1969, formerly of Detroit, passed away on November 13, 2023
Beloved wife of the late Terence Andren. Loving mother of Annemarie Andren, Terry Andren (Barb), Tony Andren (Kimberly), Darin Andren (Kymberly), and Francine Klayo (Kevin). Dearest grandmother of 10 grandchildren. Sister of Carole Alcini and the late Charlotte and Carman Alcini.
Donna loved being with her family and friends and she was most content when talking with and poking fun at them and herself. She and her husband Terry often hosted and attended parties within the deaf community that shared a common bond. They enjoyed traveling together to Japan and Alaska, and many family vacations to Florida.
She was a loyal wife and mother always looking after us all in so many ways. To encourage us she often said, "do your best". During difficult circumstances she would depend upon and pray to the Lord to bring her through.
Donna was a retired Accountant after 28 years with TACOM Federal Department of Defense Finance and Accounting Service. She earned an associate degree. A member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church, a member of St. Johns Deaf Center, and will be missed by all the lives she touched.
Donna was a two-time breast cancer survivor who never showed any fear and reassured others.
A Funeral Service will take place Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11AM at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Price Chapel), 3725 Rochester Rd. (between Big Beaver and Wattles). Her family will receive friends Friday, November 17, 2023 from 3-8PM with a Rosary at 7PM.
