Donna Atwood Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 15, 2022.
DONNA GAUTHIER ATWOOD was a proud grandma, sassy mom, loving daughter, caring
sister, fun aunt, great friend, and animal lover who gave us her last smile on December 7th,
2022 at the age of 56.
On July 15th, 1966, John Gauthier and Lorraine Allen Black, welcomed Donna on an Air Force
base in the Philippines before settling in the Austin, TX area. She grew up on a cul-de-sac
where she made many lifelong friends whom she cared for deeply. As the youngest of 6, she
spent a lot of time with her siblings Richard Gauthier (passed away in Leander, TX), Billy
Gauthier (Oklahoma), Danny Gauthier (Florida), Steve Gauthier (Round Rock, TX), and Carol
Boyd (Austin, TX). Through the good times and bad, Donna always believed in being there for
her family.
When her siblings began to welcome their own children, she became Fun Aunt Donna, a role
that she took very seriously. She had two children named Jessica Bacon and Cody Atwood. She
was a proud mom who gave everything to her children so they could have a better life. As she
got older, her world became all about her two grandchildren, Devon and Emma Atwood. They
brought so much joy and silliness to her life. Donna was often heard saying, "I'm the grandma. I
do what I want", while sneaking a lollipop to her grandchildren.
Donna had a lot of energy and spent it helping and giving to others. She was an avid animal
lover feeding all the strays in the neighborhood including her two sweet cats, Honey and Sugar.
We love and miss Donna terribly and she would want everyone to always smile, laugh, and be
happy.
We are honoring her memory at Cook-Walden Capital Parks on Sunday, December 18th at 2
pm.
