Donna Baratta Obituary

Born in Syracuse, NY on August 28, 1946, she lived a life centered on love, loyalty, and family. She passed peacefully on November 23, 2025, surrounded by those who loved her. Fierce in her devotion and generous to her core, she poured her whole heart into the people she loved—always the first to offer support, advice, or a home-cooked meal.

She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Norma Bloodough, and her brother, Gerald Bloodough. She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Anthony J. Baratta Jr.; her loving daughters, Kristan (Jason) Pavona of York, ME, and Allison Baratta of Lawrenceville, NJ; and her brother, Robert Bloodough. She was endlessly proud of her daughters and treasured her grandchildren, Anthony and Graziella Pavona, who were constant sources of joy. She also adored her grand-dogs, Dodger and Daisy, whom she showered with treats and affection.

Donna was also a deeply loving aunt, cherishing her relationships with her nieces and nephews: Michael (Heidi) Tucker of Bath, ME; Karen (Brad Robinson) Tucker of Rochester, NY; Jenna Bloodough of New York, NY; and Robert (Megan) Bloodough of Minoa, NY.

A passionate cook, she found deep happiness in the kitchen—whether preparing cherished family recipes passed down through generations or trying out new dishes to surprise and delight her loved ones. Hosting family was one of her greatest joys, and her home was always filled with warmth, good food, and laughter.

She loved to travel, embracing every opportunity to explore new places and create memories with her family. Holidays were her season to shine; she truly loved every one of them and found immense joy in gathering the family together, creating traditions that will live on for generations.

Summer gatherings at the family’s beloved Adirondack house were especially meaningful to her—sunny days filled with cooking, conversation, and the simple pleasure of being together.

A voracious reader and someone who never passed up a chance to dance, she filled her days with everything that brought her happiness. She also loved golfing, especially for the moments of fun, relaxation, and the connection it brought with friends.

Her deep love for animals, her energetic spirit, and the steady, unwavering love she gave her family will be remembered always.

Her legacy is one of generosity and boundless love—a life beautifully lived and forever cherished. Donations in her honor may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice.
