Donna Dene Barton, 69, of Grapevine, Texas, passed away on August 7th, 2025. She was born on December 23, 1955 to Edna Lou and Don Williams in Woodward, Oklahoma.

After graduating top of her class from Fort Supply High School, she went on to study Nursing at the University of Central Oklahoma. Her 30+ year nursing career was full of amazing accomplishments - leading Operating Room departments, starting up new hospitals, and culminating in a once in a lifetime contract position in Hawaii. Donna was more than a mom, sister, granny—she was a safe place, a guiding light, and the steady voice that reminded us everything would be okay. She is remembered for her unwavering love of the Dallas Cowboys and Tom Selleck, her caring disposition for all animals and her side hobby of meteorology.

Donna is survived by daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Ryan Sammons, and grandsons, Rhett and Reid Sammons of Bedford, TX, her sister and brother-in-law Cheryl and Dave Harrison of Liberal, KS, niece Annie and husband Conor Maynard, great niece and nephew, Ella and Harrison Maynard of Oklahoma City, OK.

She was preceded in death by her father, Don, in 2015, her mother, Edna Lou, in 2005, and her son, Bryan, in 2021. Donna also leaves behind a brokenhearted, supportive group of relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation in her name to Nurses House, an organization that offers short-term financial assistance to registered nurses who are facing illness or injury and are unable to work. Please go to: www.nurseshouse.org
