She is also survived by her loving daughter, Lowana and son-in-law, Richard Thompson; her sisters-in-law Sue Hester and Alice Bench; and a large and cherished family. She was preceded in death by her dear son, Daniel Ray Bench, and her brothers, Ray, Claud, and Paul Yeargan.
A devoted grandmother, Donna leaves behind three grandchildren -Erin Welch and her Husband Chad, Austin Thompson and his wife Tiffany, Andrew Thompson and his wife Jessica. She also adored her great-grandchildren: Madison, Tyson, Makenna, Kaliber, Kaydence, Kazen, Kesston, Zachary, Ethan, Charlie, and Cody. Born in Oklahoma, Donna spent her early years living at Elk Hills Tent Camp and attending Elk Hills School later living in Tupman. Her love story with Ervin began when she was just twelve, sitting together at the back of the Base Theater. Their bond grew into a lifelong partnership built on faith, love, and resilience.
Donna was known by many titles throughout her life. To the children who rode her school bus, she was affectionately called "Mrs. Bench." In the oilfields, she was known as a hardworking and respected woman among her peers. No matter the role, she was admired for her kindness, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Her warmth, wisdom, and love will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
